Itinerary description
Reconstruction of ascent to Mt. Russell on July 30th 1996, based on logging of altimeter data, handwritten notes, and topo maps.
Mount Russell is a peak in the Sierra Nevada mountain range inf California, north of Mount Whitney. With an elevation of 14,094 feet (4,296 m) it is the seventh-highest peak in the state.
Wikiloc does not support dates in the 20th century (congrats to developers). Therefore, the date posted is the one of the upload.
Moreover, the actual elevation gain/loss is also misrepresented, being the actual one about 1,700 m (5,570 feet).
The original slides were re-photographed with a digital camera without any additional lens and the resulting quality is poor.
