Itinerary description
Looking for a walk to do in a wind storm warning, I found this Munro sheltered from the winds coming from the south/south-west. Taking the path from the road in Glen Lochay, followed the path through the meadows on a north-east direction. Walked a little bit further than the usual path that follows up the ridge to take as much shelter as possible from the wind. On the half way up, about 600m altitude, try to keep on the right hand side of the ridge and avoiding the crags on the right. Arrived to the guessing a path through the grassy-rocky ground. On the way down the wind was on our back and also dropped down as forecasted, so there was less need to try to step away from the wind. We just followed the ridge down to the river and back to the meadows. There was no much chance to stay on the path, there was snow almost all the way and the strong wind made me think on a different way up than the normal. Also the weather was clear on most of the way, but on the top the clouds and the fog came round.
