Itinerary description
Maja e Thate in Boge is located in west referring to Livadhi peak. The peak of the mountain 2541m is not visible from the road where we started the trail. There are 2 ways to go up to valley of Omeku peak, one is this and for the other you can check what we did in 8 August 2021 (https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/maja-thate-2541m-boge-80414653 ). This is a very difficult hike and we did some red signs all over the trail so you can have them as reference and also, we put some pile up stones nearly in all the distance but do not go without GPS. At 1.6 km from the start, you should go right and up for 1.7 km with a gradient max 30-40°until you arrive in a small puddle. Also, from the puddle you should go right und up to and down until you catch a rough terrain. So, we walked on a path with stones till at the Rock with Hole which is roughly 4.8 km from the trailhead at an altitude 2300m. We walked according to red lines on the photo. At Rock with Hole, you have to go through the hole and turn left. Then you proceed according to red signs. At roughly 5.5km, 2370m, we found a way that goes up. This section part of the path is roughly 150 m and it is very dangerous, you should have very good climbing skills and you have to be attention from rock falling, better to have a rope. So, the ascending trail up to the summit is roughly 6 km and in total 12 km with an elevation gain of 1560m. From the peak you will have a magnificent panorama around.
