Itinerary description
Great trail and the view is outstanding, wouldn´t want to go this route though in fog or wind. I recommend to walk on Mt. Skrælingur on the way, it´s safer than to take a short cut in the snow. Just be careful.

Thanks for the great map. I’m considering doing this hike in early June. Do you think that’s an okay time to go with just hiking boots & light duty crampons? Or too much snow still?
Hi Steven,
I think it might be a bit early and you could expect more snow of course at that time. I recommend not to go alone except if you are very experienced. Whether you do this peak or not the area is beautiful and worth visiting despite the gravel road and if there is still snow there are also easier peaks to climb close.

Thank you Harald! I appreciate the quick reply. I’ll definitely be visiting the Strandir coast either way. Is there another hike you’d recommend that is more suitable for early June?
