Climb Kilimanjaro by the Machame route, in 6 days.
Stage 1 - Machame Gate - Machame Hut: By path through the mountain forest.
Stage 2 - Machame Hut - Shira Camp: By footpath, leaving the forest and crossing the heath until arriving at the moor where the Shira camp is. From the camp you can walk to Shira Hut to see the plain of Shira Plateau.
Stage 3 - Shira Camp - Barranco Hut: It is an important day for acclimatization. Climb up the path to Lava Tower, and then go down to Barranco Hut.
Stage 4 - Barranco Hut - Barafu Hut: You have to climb Barranco Wall by footpath, a rocky wall of about 200 meters of altitude. Then continue through several ravines to Karanga Hut. Finally, climb to Barafu Hut, last camp before the summit.
Stage 5 - Barafu Hut - Summit: Departure at midnight, to see sunrise at the top. Climbed by decomposed terrain and very steep to Stella Point, and then up the hill to the highest point. Down the same road passing through Barafu Hut to go to sleep at Mweka Hut, on the upper edge of the forest.
Stage 6 - Mweka Hut - Mweka Gate: By footpath and track, crossing the forest to the exit door of the park.
The route does not present any technical difficulty, although from the physical point of view it is a somewhat demanding route and requires acclimatization to the altitude. Although it is not necessary, it is a good idea to do Mount Meru first.
