Itinerary description
Kerling is the highest mountain in north of Iceland. At 1538m it offers a splendid view and it is a very fun climbing/trekking trip. No technical climbing is involved, though ice axes and crampons are preferred in the winter.
This route was taken early summer. The last slope cannot be climbed during summer. When we went, it was covered with snow that we could walk up. When the snow is gone the last slope is a steep rock face.
