Itinerary description
A visit to some of the best low grade scrambles in Snowdonia's Glyderau. The route starts up the Grade 1-2 Milestone Gully on Tryfan, before joining the popular north ridge route to the summit. Descent of the south ridge is followed by a scramble up the awesome Bristly Ridge onto Glyder Fach. From here, scramble over Castell y Gwynt and descend Y Gribin (staying close to the crest for the best scrambling). From the lower reaches of Y Gribin, pick up a sheep track into Cwm Cneifion and access Seniors Ridge to head back up (hunt around off the path on the Idwal side to find the best scrambling). Finally drop down the Devil's Kitchen path and cross over the stream where it emerges from the cleft to pick up the Sheepwalk. This narrow and fairly exposed path has some easy scrambling up a rib in its upper reaches, before you are deposited on the slopes of Y Garn. From here it's a straightforward plod to the summit of Y Garn, before descending it's NE ridge.
