Itinerary description
This is a way from the Refugio Rocca (at the paso de las nubes) to the summit of Cerro Constitucion. It should take around 3 hours up and down again. The beginning is marked, but at the last part over rockfields and to the top you have to find your own way. From top you have a great few around (picture).
You can leave your backpack at the Refugio and start the climb. It is good to ask the people there about the way, they can help you.
We needed around 4 hours, because we had to find the right way, as you can see in the track. So go the way up that we went down.
First you have to find the right path through the bushes and trees. You have to go from the Refugio some meters down and then at a flat field to the east. There you find the path up, good marked with red color.
At an heigh around 1500 meters the marks are ending. There are only very few piles of stones, but most of the way you have to find by yourself. Now you should go northeast over the rock field. If the mountain is in the east of you, start climbing up. Watch out for snowfields, they can be dangerous!
From top you can see a lot of mountains, for example the Tronador (picture). The view is really great!
It is nice to do the tour in the morning, before going down to Pampa Linda or Puerto Frias.
