Bulgaria Musala Summit -Borovets round trip back
As part of the 19 May event, we started walking with the Istanbul Nature Mountaineering Club at the beginning of the Musala hiking route, just outside Borovets, at 6 am. We left our car in a prepaid parking area on the side of the road. Gondolas and chairlifts were not working due to the season.
We passed over the bridge at 5 places on the route and ascended through a beautiful forest road. The first four bridges are concrete. The last bridge is wooden. We crossed carefully as the last two bridges were partially damaged.
After the last bridge, there is the gondola station. Following here, we passed through a marshy and muddy land and came to the area where the first shelter and hotels are located at the level of the lowest pond on the snowy ground. The cafe here works, food and drink are available.
From this point on, we ascended in the swampy snow up to the second shelter, following the poles. At this stage where the slope increases, the view of the mountains and ponds is magnificent.
The second shelter was closed. Here we took our last break and came to the rocky part of the mountain. Here, we climbed up to the summit by using the ridge over large pieces of rocks. Meanwhile, you can safely pass the awned places by taking support from the steel rope in the middle due to snowfall and wind.
By returning from the same route with breaks, we finished a beautiful activity in which we lived all four seasons together.
