Itinerary description

An enjoyable spring hike done in late May 2006. The weather was nice - though it snowed a little at one point. Great visibity over a vast landscape - highly recommended. Having hit both "peaks" - the one named after the mountain and "Skipþúfa" (where the locals used to go to survey the fjord) we stopped at Bjarnarhöfn and visited the museum, an experience not to be missed. This is of course also where the best Icelandic cured shark is processed - you can buy some without any intermediaries!.
