Itinerary description
Not for the faint hearted! First of all you have to get to the rock by yacht/ fishing boat and then getting ashore can be challenging/ downright dangerous with large swell and currents. SW corner there is a small rocky beach. The ascent is very steep - some climbing involved and much cactus/ thorn/ very nasty stinging plants. View from the top is well worth it. If you're passing please look out for the flag at the top, and if you make it to the top please take a new (Grenadian) flag to put up! This ascent took 2.5 hours up (chopping through bush) and 20 mins to descend. Hard to know if to categorize the activity as a hike or climb! V hard hike but easy climb. I'll call it mountaineering.

Trail was just as expected, really hard that is! :-)
Landing on the island was a combination of swimming/wading, trying to keep the landing pack dry. The trail was easy to follow, but nature is harsh. Lots of Poison Ivy, cactus and slippery gravel. We had three dogs and they followed about 75% of the trail until it was no longer possible for them to climb. Lots of nesting birds, tried not to disrupt them. A few goats and big iguanas were spotted too. Flag is in good condition!
