Valle de los Reyes - Valley of the Kings (Egypt)

Iniciamos la ruta justo donde salen los ferrys municipales para cruzar el rio Nilo (1 LE por persona y las bicis gratis). Cuidado, no dejarse engañar por la cantidad de buscavidas que hay alrededor del ferry ofreciendo barcos para ir a la otra orilla, siempre diez veces más caros y cobrando por la bicicleta.

Después de pasar por los Colosos de Memnon llegamos a un cruce donde hay un panel con el mapa de los templos y tumbas de la zona, justo a la izquierda están las taquilla para adquirir las entradas para todos los monumentos excepto para el templo de Hatshepsut y el Valle de los Reyes que se sacan en el sitio.

Por esa misma carretera de tierra donde están las taquillas se llega al Templo de Ramses III (Medinet Habu).

De vuelta a la carretera principal pasamos por Las Tumbas de los Nobles y el Templo de Millones de Años (Ramesseum).

Un poco más adelante, después de pasar por unos talleres de alabastro, tomamos un desvío hacia la izquierda para llegar al majestuoso Templo de Hatshepsut.

Volvemos a la carretera y en el siguiente cruce, donde hay un puesto militar cogemos la carretera de la izquierda para ir hasta las tumbas del Valle de los Reyes.

Retornamos de nuevo hasta el cruce de los militares y esta vez continuamos rectos (dirección SSE) hacia el Templo de Seti I.

Continuamos nuestra ruta hasta un cruce con una carretera con bastante más trafico que tomaremos a la derecha durante 2 km, donde ya nos encontraremos con la calle que 1.5 km más allá nos lleva de nuevo al barco.

We start the rout just where the municipal ferries leave to cross the Nile (1 EL per person, bicycles for free). Stay clear of the people that would offer to take you to the other shore, it will always be more expensive and they will charge you for the bicycle.

After crossing the Colossi of Memnon we will arrive at a crossroad where we will find an informative panel with the map of the temples and tombs of the place. On the left, we can find the ticket office, where we can buy the tickets for every monument, except the Hatshepsut Temple and the Valley of the Kings, we will obtain those later on.

If we follow the same road where the ticket offices are, we will arrive to the Ramses III Temple or Medinet Habu.

Going back to the main road we will find the Tombs of the Nobles and the Ramesseum.

Further away, after going through some alabaster workshops, we will take a detour to the left to arrive at the breathtaking Hatshepsut Temple. The tickets for this Temple will be buy here and not at the main entrance.

We go back to the main road and, in the next crossroad, where a military check point is situated, we will take the left road to go to the Valley of the Kings.

We go back to the military check point and, this time, instead of turning left we continue straight forward (SSE direction) to the Temple of Seti I.

We continue our route to a crossroad where we will turn to the right to take a road with considerably more traffic, following it for 2 km. Finally, we will find the road that 1,5 km forward will take us to the boat.
