Waypoints
Downhill run
A short but very exciting, downhill road stage.
Back into the forest
This point marks the start of the forest stage that leads us to the Elias Medieval Bridge. This gravel trail is often used as a rally 'special stage'.
Start of the final stage
We are back on asphalt here, for the final stage of the ride. Keep your eyes out for the elusive, wild Moufflon.
Kelefos Bridge
The end of a great day on the bikes at the Kelefos Medieval Bridge, where the support car is waiting. We have just ridden from nearly 2000 metres above sea level, down to 300 metres above sea level.
Start of the ride
At 1952 metres above sea level, we start the ride on the summit of Mt. Olympus, the highest point in Cyprus.
Stunning view point
At this early point in the ride, we get, on clear days, beautiful views north to Nicosia and the Kyrenian Mountains, beyond.
It's not all downhill!
At this point the trail starts to climb gently.
Top of the climb
We reach the top of the gentle climb and enjoy stunning views into the Foini valley. We continue downhill from here.
Chantara Waterfalls
Another chance for a short break and some time to explore the beautiful waterfalls.

Difficult
A trail that is mostly a climb towards Mt Olimpos. You might find maybe 2 kms that are flat or a shallow descent. Good idea not to go in summer unless you can keep up with 35 degrees. I started with 17 degrees and ended with 34 on the way down. The return is easy. Another matter, last place to buy water is Foini and that is a bit far from the summit. But you will go through the Chantaras waterfall. Shops were closed due to COVID so I reloaded at the waterfall. Enjoy the ride.

I’d rather rename it as ‘Pitiful waste of altitude’. Sorry. Views are great though. It’s alternating s0 and s1 with zero singletrack or technical sections. Probably good for gravel though.
