TROCHA VEREDA LA MADERA y VEREDA PALMERAS. La Unión (Antioquia)

Esta trocha es muy recomendada. Partimos desde el municipio de La Unión (Antioquia), que está localizado en la región del oriente antiqueño a 58 km de Medellín. Salimos desde el Parque principal, que es muy pintoresco pues tiene un tractor como "monumento" en plena plaza, la cual además tiene dos iglesias católicas en su marco.

Del Parque partimos hacia la vereda Maderas, rodando por la Cra 9a hasta la Calle 14, que nos saca hacia la vía que conduce al municipio de Carmen de Viboral. Al salir del casco urbano, tomamos una vía rural secundaria destapada (en ripio), muy fácil de transitar pero con mucho rizado por efecto del tipo de piso y piedras en el camino. Hay que rodar con cuidado. Elegimos ir hacia "El Café del alto", un sitio turístico muy hermoso localizado a 2670 msnm y que tiene como premio al esfuerzo en primer lugar la vista privilegiada desde dicha altura y la posibilidad de degustar comida orgánica
artesanal. Dicho café está localizado en la vía veredal hacia el sector de La Chapa, que también conduce hacia El Carmen de Viboral, pero una vía muy estrecha, para jeeps o bicis. El regreso lo hicimos por la vereda Palmeras y conectando finalmente con la ruta de ingreso por la Calle 14. Para el regreso, nos llovió un poco. Como recomendación para rodar por éste territorio, hay que llevar siempre impermeable y víveres ligeros, pues estamos rodando en una zona de clima frío y lluvias permanentes.

This route is very recommended and beatiful.

We start from the municipality of La Unión (Antioquia), which is located in the eastern region of Antioquia (Oriente Antioqueño), located at 58 km from Medellín. We leave from the main square, which is very nice because it has a tractor as a "monument" in the middle of the square, which also has two Catholic churches in its framework.

From the Square we set off towards the "Vereda Maderas", rolling along Street 14th, which takes us towards the road that leads to the municipality of Carmen de Viboral.

Leaving the urban area, we take an uncovered secondary rural road (gravel), very easy to travel but very curly due to the type of floor and stones on the road. You have to ride carefully. We chose to go to "El Café del Alto", a very beautiful tourist site located at 2670 meters above sea level and that has as a reward for the effort in the first place the privileged view from that height and the possibility of tasting organic food.

We made the return through the "Vereda Palmeras" and finally connecting with the entrance route through Street 14th. On the way back, it rained a little. As a recommendation to shoot through this territory, you must always carry a raincoat and light groceries, as we are shooting in an area with cold weather and permanent rain.
