Pokljuka area, bordering on the Triglav National Park (Slovenia), to the so-called Julian Alps.
We leave Bohinjska Bistrika, the most important town close to the beautiful and crystalline Lake Bohinj. In the first stretch we follow a beautiful cycle track to approach us, following the course of a river, to this lake.
Next we take a road that crosses different rural areas and small towns: they are very characteristic of the region wood huts to conserve the crops. When arriving at the outskirts of Jereka, the road climbs significantly and, for quite a few kilometers, presents strong slopes. We stand halfway up the small church of Sv. Martina and we continue to rise significantly. At some point, the slope is softened and we cross areas of cultivation and alpine meadows. Finally you reach the ski station of Julka, where we stop at a restaurant-alpine shelter to recover strength.
Then cross the ski station and climb, with a much more gentle slope, to the sports center of the Triglav PN, a sports training complex in height. From here, the asphalt gives way to the earth and we begin the descent through forest track. At the beginning of the descent, we find a beautiful place: it is an intersection of paths, with a pretty and curious wooden chapel (Kapela Marije K. Miru) and spectacular views of Triglav, the highest mountain in the country . We take some pictures of the place and we continue in a rapid descent towards Lake Bohinj, returning to the point of origin again on the bike lane that follows the river.
