Itinerary description
The first 20 km basically on normal roads, once reached Albano Laziale and Castel Gandolfo the good views started as a balcony over the Lago Albano. The huge volcano crater is well recognizable, full of dense vegetation all around, I took a path that goes around the lake, to then join the road called “via dei laghi”. Next thing to see? The other lake, Lago di Nemi, in a volcano crater too, I went to Nemi, it’s high compared to the water level, terraces everywhere and I had a break with the nice view of the lake. Break done. I went back on via dei laghi and at km 52 I took a path that goes downhill for several kms in a very green wood; the next place to visit is Lanuvio, it’s a town, medieval origins, still visible the rounded towers and partially some of the walls, the town is builted in and out of the walls, I had a delicious gelato ;)
The way down was initially between farms of olive trees, grain fields and wine yards, and after once reached the flat, just boring straight roads where I could find more and more cars while getting to the end of the loop. For sure to do again especially the area of the 2 lakes, the only bad thing is that I had to stop many times cause there are soooooooo many roads... ciaoooo ;)
