Itinerary description

A massive, exhausting ride, needing at least 4-hours, with only a few sections of surfaced road as well as several hard climbs (including one of the longest climbs in this region, up past the Gouraud Cedar over the Tizi Idguel. The road down into what I call the 'Eden' crater is not to be missed--it's lovely--but it's a hike-a-bike out the other side.

Aguelmam-n-Tghalouine (crater lake) is always amazing for its birdlife but the climb back over the Michlifene can be loose and rocky. Then there's still two more climbs and many more miles of rough country to go!

Radio towers road = great side trip!

The road up to these radio towers is a good ride and the views from the top are among the best in the region

This road gets terribly rocky when dry

This road gets terribly rocky when dry, so it's not much fun on a bicycle.
