Waypoints
The end of the world
Camping
Free organised campsite of the National Park of Tierra del Fuego. One of many, but this is nice.
National Park Entrance
Entrance fee around 22USD in July 2017.
Dublin Irish Pub
Carrefour Ushuaia
The biggest supermarket in town.
Ushuaia Extremo
Bike box, cleaning and packing service for 25 USD.
Camping
Pretty well sheltered spot for a couple of tents by the creek.
Wild Camping
Plenty of camping space with epic view to the Beagle Channel. No wind cover though. Cows around too. Water from the creek 500m east, where is more sheltered spot to camp for a couple of tents as well. This is the last nice and peaceful spot before town if coming from east.
Water
There is generally no lack of water in this area, but this creek is marked here because of the good wild camping by the creek and on the meadow 500m west.
Start/end of hike-a-bike
Occasional hike-a-biking starts/ends around here. Occasional steep sections and thorny over grown vegetation. Some fallen trees and mud too. The section takes 4-6 hours.
Start/end of hike-a-bike
Occasional hike-a-biking starts/ends around here. Occasional steep sections and thorny over grown vegetation. Some fallen trees and mud too. The section takes 4-6 hours. This is also the most most western point of the rarely used military zone.
Wild camping
Good wild camping by the river, decent wind cover too. Other rivers along the coast offer decent wild camping, but this might be the nicest.
Gate to the military area
Gate to the military area is locked, but you can push your bike around it through a broken fence. Army trains here once every a couple of months, rest of the time the area seem to be unused and without any military presence. During any military activity the area should be avoided!
Sea Food Restaurants
First of the multiple sea food restaurants along the coast line before the gate of the military area 15km away. I sticked with my pasta and skipped them all.
Estancia Harberton
Potential side trip to historic Estancia Harberton. Entrance fee around 14 USD/ 240 ARS includes tour on estancia and entrance to maritime museum. Food and accommodation available too. I skipped this, but perhaps I should not have.
Wild camping
Easy access to the river and fire pits, which could attract locals. Decent spot to wild camp otherwise. Small trout in the river. There are possibly many more wild camping spot in the valley, but this and the one a few hundred meters easy are the ones very easy to access.

Alternative route down
Alternative route down on a dirt track. Going up to the pass, will be way easier to stay on the pavement...

Paso Garibaldi (460m)
Paso Garibaldi is the only real pass of the route. Old Ruta 3 to the pass from Lago Escondido is steep and rocky.
Closed hotel and cabañas
Closed hotel offers world class bikeshacking. Some prefer the hotel, but the most the cabañas though. The hut number four used to be best. Good wild camping in the area too. Beaver dam on south side of the lake is a good reminder of the presence of Giardia. Big trout in the lake as well.
Restaurant
Restaurant La Casona along the main road. I stuck with my pasta.
Restaurant
A road side restaurant Villa Marina. I stuck with my pasta and did not visit.
River crossing along a beaver damn
River crossing along a beaver damn, if it has not been washed away since April 2017. The old bridge has collapsed long ago. Potentially a tricky crossing.
Wild camping
Great wild camping prospects all along the bank of Lago Fagnano. Find your spot! If the fishing hut is empty at Rio Milna though, this spot offers some moderate wind protection. A couple of annoying locked gates in the area.
