Itinerary description
The ride is almost entirely on unpaved roads, through tea plantations and sometime it pass across hills on challenging path (steep, rough terrain, one would need to push the bike instead of pedaling).
The track pass also by the Ratargul swamp forest and if you have time and a place to secure your bike, it would be worth visiting it.
All in all a beautiful ride across extremely green hills and nice landscapes.
The "moderate" has been put only because some passage might be challenging (again, you would need to push your bike or bike across small streams of water).
Waypoints
typical path
Roads are usually as the one in the picture, though sandy paths are as well present and while it is funny to ride and swing on sand, it is important to clean the bike at the end of the day and oil the chain to prevent excessive grinding.
Narrow tracks
Sometime the track vanish and one would need to use his orientation to get back on track. It is part of the game and it is exciting to lose and find again the way!
Worship place on top of a hill
An astonishing place, under a sacred tree. Beautiful view.
Clean water
The ride cross a number of small water streams. For some, a bridge (sometime consisting of 1 single bamboo) is available. For others, you would need to either cycle across or step into the water. In fact, whenever possible, it is easier to ride the bike as the bottom of those water streams is always compacted.
Cutting through tea estates
Some tea plantation are fenced, other not. The proposed track passes through open tea plantation .
Risky passage, careful here!
As mentioned in the description, some passage might be uncomfortable for someone. When in doubt, push your bike instead or riding it.
The river at Rataergul swamp forest
If you have time, the forest seems a place worth visiting. Best during the rainy season as water level is higher.
Narrow track
Narrow tracks are usually fast as the terrain is compacted. Pay attention to holes and tree roots!
Mixed track
These type of tracks are quite often present. They consist of a mixture of sand and grass route. One would prefer to ride on grass as sand beside being funny can damage the mech of the bike. Nevertheless riding on sand is sometime unavoidable. Pay attention when moving from grass to sand and the other way around as shift of drag might result on loss of equilibrium
Carved tracks
The track is here carved in the sand bank. Sometime very narrow, pay attention when downhill going.
Palm cultivation
Toward the end, the path cross a palm plantation. To join the track, one need to cross a small hill where n path are available. The passage is doable and do not have any specific difficulty.
