Itinerary description

This is a short trail with nice views and a few slightly technical spots. A great trail for travelers to take a break and stretch their legs.

You park at the top, ride down to the river and then back the same way up to your car. The tracks here are from a return trip.

Thanks for adding this trail. I did the other Steven's trail about a week ago, so I thought I should map this one as well. Since you added it, I don't have to. Thanks. (I am trying to stay out of the poison oak for a few days.)

It is really interesting to show both of our trails on the same map

We have been trying to figure out who Stevens is. Apparently during the Gold rush era he made several "wagon" roads in the area. Our 2 trails put together show one of the major routes between Colfax and Iowa hill. At one time Iowa hill had the largest population of Placer county. Now there are only 75 people with no electricity or phones.

How do you show both trails on one map?

Hi Susan. an interesting question and it has been a long time since I worked on wikiloc, so I almost forgot. 1. From this map click on "nearby trails" to the right of the map. On the next map click the plus sign 2 or 3 times to zoom in. Then you should see stevens and my stevens at the top of the trail list. The is a little eyeball symbol to the right of the name of the trails. Click on the eyeball on both trails and you will see them both. for a short cut try this link: http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/map.do#lt=39.117094&ln=-120.899295&z=4&k=1&tab=0&a=2,1,21,48,14,43,11,17,13,27,55,41
