Itinerary description
A 20 mile route using quieter roads where possible, apart from first section up west coast and the road up to Grand Etang - no choice here. This is a very hilly ride with several very steep sections. Starting St George follow west coast road until right turn immediately after new concrete bridge at Beasejour playing field. Climb starts deceptively gently for first 1.5 miles but then is very steep with broken concrete track for next mile. Grades exceed 25% in places. After Annandale join Grand Etang road. Climb to top is optional but for quieter road climb nearly to Vendome before taking right turn. Steep descent all the way but do not miss sharp left turn to concrete road near bottom. Then very steep up for 150 yards. Re-join Grand Etang raod near bottom. Left turn at gas station and one final but steep climb and descend back to Lagoon in St Georges. About 20 miles, around 2,700ft of climbing.
