Itinerary description
This is not a super long ride, but it has a good climbs and one crazy descent to the gorgeous "below-the-highway" road. And it's always pleasant to return to Ifrane via Ras El Ma. Living at the Annex, wanting to keep my time on the dangerous highway to a minimum, I take the shortcut through the Arz Village and over what I call 'Sassafras Pass."

Treacherous road--ride the trails in the forest on the west side of the road
This road is very steep and loose, with dangerous gullies near the bottom. It's much safer to ride the trails in the forest to the west of the road. This requires some route-finding and ducking under branches, but it's much safer.
Dead-end street

I've not yet found a good route down this valley--just a lot of dead-ends and hike-a-bikes
If a good route can be found down into this valley it would make for a fun loop down and then up Ben Smim--but I've given it a good try, and have only spent a lot of time with my bike on my back, walking across gullies and fields.
