Itinerary description
An excellent ride. Attractive bleak scenery on the rough road from the bivio to the hamlet where you turn onto the mule track. From here it’s hard going until you come to the crest. There follows a spectacular zigzag descent (walled and safe but steep) easing off after a while, reaching the cobbled road at Curral das Vacas. The gradient offsets the headwind for the continuation through the attractively green village of Lagedos onto the increasingly bleak road back to Porto Novo.
