Itinerary description
Just inside the M25 makes this ride something of a novelty. With the exception of one downhill section and one level track, this ride is mainly on road. It could be ridden, carefully, on a road bike.
The basic ride was taken from 'Wild Cycling' by Chris Sidwells, who suggested starting from Clacket Lane Service Station. I don't recommend that as there is a 2 hour parking limit and to exceed that time would cost at least £12.
The climb on White Lane has lines at the start and finish so you could time yourself. 700yds at an average of 13%.
In 2014, professional cyclist and now pundit, David Millar, choose this annual event as his career swansong. Course record is 1:42.9
