First experience in a bike park for me, and also the first international route that I do in my life, in the sense that I leave a country (Slovenia) and make a route that passes a good part of it for another (Austria), to return to the country of origin. The issue of the border in Schengen countries is an anecdote, but it is curious. The theme of the bikepark, on the other hand, completely marks the route. To begin, in the accumulated gap and distance, which are triggered by the "trap" of the ski lifts. And to continue, it's not just any bikepark, but the one with the longest flow trail in Europe, with 11km of descent with 1000m of drop. An authentic savage.

90% of the guests of the Ekohotel Koros who decide to visit the bike park of Petzen hire the transfer to it, which by road is 20-25km. I, in addition to not wanting to melt more pasta, wanted to give pedals, that's what I came for, so I asked the owner of the hotel for a route to get pedaling. He gave me a track that, in addition to taking me and bringing me the best alternatives, avoiding as much as possible the roads with the most traffic, included a very cool downhill path to the Austrian city of Bleiburg. To do this, I have to climb to the top of Jamnica's Trail Park and cross the border by tracks, slightly surpassing the 1000m elevation. As I say, the last part of the descent to Bleiburg is a joy, a narrow path and well trodden in the forest.

From Bleiburg to the base of the bikepark I have asphalt on secondary roads, which allow me to get to know rural Austria. Once at the bikepark, I take the pass for the whole day (€ 30), since the half day was only € 4 cheaper and so I walked with more freedom. I have forgotten the protections and I have heard stories of ostias like loaves in the descent of the Flow Trail, so I decide to rent protections for arms and legs (€ 16 in total, for the whole day) that make me look like robocop, but that They give some security. Hooking the bike on the egg stand is surprisingly easy, and I do not do any bouncing, I hook it to the first without help.

Once up, at 1700m, I prepare to face the first descent. You have to lose a bit of height per track from the upper station of the cable car to the entrance to the flowtrail itself. Once at the exit door, take a deep breath and be careful, be very careful. It is a descent without rocks or roots, with a compact gravel that forms banked curves and gradient changes in which to jump and that allows you to go very fast ... too much! It is easy to trust and pack yourself, and getting out of a curve or going too fast in a change of elevation can have very unpleasant consequences, so the first descent makes it very quiet, taking the trick to the subject. If you have never done it, it is not easy to take the dynamics to the superelevations, to put the bike almost horizontal and to go off towards the next curve. But it's very fun! They are about 25 'down, in which you can not lose concentration for a second.

After the first descent, I go straight to the egg again. This time, I'm going to do the other descent, the so-called Thriller. This descent was part of the EWS 2018, in fact, I think it is one of the longest stretches in the history of the EWS. The entry sign warns of "only experts", but fuck, I have done all the blacks of Zero Zone of Ainsa, it can not be so complicated. The balls. This is a bikepark, and here people come to what's coming. You see people with little aspect of cyclist, with their pot, smoking, and such, but then they put on their protections and their integral and they go down buzzing over rocks and roots! The descent is very heavy, very broken, thousands of roots crisscrossed, rocones, drops, ... very, very fucked up. I come down having taken it almost entirely without getting off, but wishing it would end once and for all. And in one piece. One and no more. I asked some Israelis if they had done it, and they answered yes, but I did not even think about doing it with the bike I was carrying (a Specialized Camber). Later that advice comes.

After eating a burger at the base, I take the cable car again and do a couple more down the flow trail, each time with more confidence, flying higher (relatively) and slowing down less. Still, I think that the bikeshop of the base has to be covered by selling brake pads and I wonder how many more drops will hold mine. In the second drop of the afternoon, I do not stop for a moment and I get down melted, half dizzy from so much turn, and I decide that I have had enough flow for today, so I return the protections and I turn towards the hotel by roads and tracks . This time I cross the border by road, but there is no one at the border post. Arriving at "my" trail park, I have already passed the dizziness and decide to rush the time I have until dinner time making some down the trails in the area.

In total, if we exclude the 4 lifts and descents, 54km out and almost 1600m +, which is not a bullshit either. If you join the fatigue by the tension of doing another 40km and 4000m descent, because the route is put in figures that are not joke. Technically, the flowtrail is easy, but you can complicate what you want by releasing the brakes. The Thriller trail, on the other hand, is fucked up, so I call the route "just experts". In short, more than 9h of a great biker experience!
