I would not recommend that you follow this track all the way round. Once you get to the rise just below the Observatory, you are on the road pretty much all the way back Tekapo. The offshoot to Lake Alexandrina It’s on a wide gravel road and a bit boring. Unless you are superfit or on an E bike, there will be some pushing up to the Observatory but, if you make it, I suggest you turn back and go the way you came as there would be some great downhill riding.
