Itinerary description

Spring 2009

Park at Rocky Reach and cross the N Yuba river on the foot bridge to begin the ride. Follow the technical singletrack upstream to a gravel road, turn left and ride .7 miles to the highway, turn left and ride about 1.8 miles to the well signed Hall's Ranch Trail. Prepare to suffer! 14 switchbacks and no doubt some pushing gets you on top of the ridge, but this is by no means the end of the climbing, the trail rolls up and down sometimes very steeply as it follows the ridge westward. After about .4 miles the Hall's Ranch trail dives off the ridge to the right and the Fiddle Creek trail begins. This is one of those trails that you may only need to do once in your life, it's suffering to bliss ratio is kind of high in my opinion. But you should do it at least once!
