Itinerary description
The whole path of this trail is wide dirt road, no technical sections at all. Many parts of it are in shade, so it is great for late spring.
The first 12 KM of this trail is not too exciting climb, but great for exercise - not too steep, on well maintained, wide dirt road. The small church of Virgin Asinou, which is on the way up, is one of the nicer examples of typical "mountain" churches in Cyprus.
Once you reach the top, the views open up on Morphou bay and Mount Olympus, which was still under snow in late March. Great view - green hills and spring flowers and white cap on Olympus. This year however the top was fairly barren, because of the big forest fire.
