Itinerary description
After leaving Albufeira, it isn't too long before you get off road and onto some trails. Once you drop down and meet the Ribeira de Quarteira, which was actually a dry river bed in February, the route becomes single trail. It's not demanding at all and is a beautiful way to climb up the valley, as far as the Castelo de Paderne. Soon after, you're then on tarmac roads, through Paderne village itself and an easy route up to Alte. There is a 13% hill up to Alte, but nothing to demanding. Thereafter the return journey back to Albufeira, is very straightforward but nonetheless picturesque.
