Itinerary description
I recorded only going down. I went up the same way and it took me 2,5 hours, including losing the trail a couple of times.
Bring plenty of water! You would be insane to do this in summer!
Not all of this way enjoyable on mountain bike. The stretch between waypoint one and two way great. As for the rest, I would prefer hiking.
The starting point is at a cave. Bring a headlight. You can go even further up the mountains, but I wouldn't do it with a bike.
Cycling between the cave and the first waypoint is dangerous. If you fall, you die! Leave your bike and walk if you're not sponsored by Redbull.
From waypoint 1 to waypoint 2 is fun downhill mountain biking on loose gravel.
From waypoint 2 to waypoint 3 sucks. Cycling is difficult on the loose rocks, and I ended up mostly walking.
From waypoint 3 to waypoint 4 is fast downhill cycling. Easy!
At the bottom of the trail, there are piles of rubbish, including broken glass. You have to cross these piles to get to the trail.
Unlike most places around the mountains in Luxor, there is no police or ticket checkpoint to stop you from going up the mountains.
Elevation apparently isn't working. Should be around 300 meters up.
