Itinerary description

Lauder to Rainfurly on the Central Otago Rail Trail. Very scenic and more remote section of the trail with the highlight being the Poolburn Gorge. There are 2 tunnels about 200m long where a flashlight is almost a must. Great vistas on an easy trail which allow some side by side travel and mind wandering. As with the section from Clyde to Lauder, even though it is a rail trail, the slog to the high point was steady and arduous in the sun.
