Itinerary description

Kattegattleden - Day 3
Route Träslövsläge - Halmstad
Signs are more scarce and confusing than in the two previous ones. An example: past the bridge in Falkenberg we missed a sign and got lost. That sign was never there, which misled us into taking the wrong direction. Yet, the ule of thumb keeps being to stick to the path you're in and continue straight ahead in the case of doubt.
It's quite a boring stretch, too, with many a stint of shared traffic, f.i. miles 3.72 to 9.32.
10 miles from Halmstad at Tylösand's crossong, there is the chance to skip the Tylösand Peninsula entirely. One can stick to Kattegattleden or keep on straight all the way to Halmstad, which we chose. This means you will a reasonably marked path with either square signs showing a black bike on a yellow background or a white arrow with red writing on it. If you take this detour, you will save some 10 miles of riding but you will also miss some beautiful sights. We chose to do so because it was raining cats and dogs and we had had enough of beaches under the pouring rain for a day. It is up to you which you will take, both have pros and cons, the main con for the straightforward option is the signs showing a distance that is not real (it will always be less than they show).
