Itinerary description

MTB-trip on a mostly good path (low traffic, no cars!) from Karahkel through paddy fields to a small village (Parungsinga), to the left you cross the river Ci Tempuhan on a plank bridge to the next village (Kantalarang). Than as the path winds up is becomes more and more steep and rocky, however, reaching a plateau (Leuwibatu) with old trees (African origin: planted by an outpost of Puspitek) which provide some shade. There, a half kilometre from the river, I could observe a beautiful Javan Kingfisher: Halcyon cyanoventris). On a clear day I could see the skyscrapers of Jakarta Selatan. The path now runs smoothly (little ups though) down to the road (Leuwiliang - Rumpin); short before the crossing (230m asl) a shelter offers a nice break.
