Itinerary description
The scope of the ride was to visit a few old building in Baliapara, east of Dhaka. For a longer ride, It was decided to turn aroud the heavily urbanized area (Bultha, Saoghat etc). Unfortunately, despite a few nice corners, the area is pretty much stuffed with industrial settings, resulting in traffic and pollution (rivers were completely polluted and water was black), despite the number of people living in the area.
The second half was far more pleasant and the ruins in Baliapara were very interesting (though it is not recommended to enter in the building as they are in a very dilapidated condition). The age of the building should not be ante-1870 approx., as declared by the metal "I" beams adopted as construction method.
The areas was inhabited by Indus community that progressively left to India from mid XX century.
In my opinion, the best way to visit the are would be to follow the track in opposite direction, reach the interesting side and come back the same way. The length of the course would therefore be shorter by 15 Km approx.
