Itinerary description
You can park at either end of this trail, as there are public parking areas for access to the trail. We parked at the N. Roxborough Rd area and headed south/southwest on the canal trail.
The trail is pretty flat and parallels the Highline Canal, winding through the neighborhoods of the Titan road area. It is wide enough to accommodate service vehicles. The canal is lined on both sides by large Cottonwood trees and other vegetation, so depending on the location and time of day, there is ample shade in summer. In addition to bikers and hikers, horses frequent this trail.
The section from N. Roxborough Rd. to Titan Rd. is pretty bumpy due to the divots made by horse hoofs. Once south of the Titan Rd. crossing, it smooths out.
There are great views from the trail of the front range mountains.
