Itinerary description

Counterclockwise - km 32 - difference in height 650 m.
Departure from Gorizia Piazzale Casarossa. The tour develops almost entirely in the Slovenian territory. First along the dirt track that runs alongside the Isonzo parallel to the railway, a couple of km before Plave, turn right uphill and after a few hairpin turns to the top of the hill and then take the path that leads to the asphalt road that salt on Mount Sabotino.
This itinerary does not provide the climb up to the shelter but you can reach it after a few hundred meters from the junction of the dirt road that leads to Italy.
You return to Italy along a single technical track and sometimes exposed that will take us to the village of Salcano from where we will retrace the road traveled in the opposite direction.
The itinerary can also be done in the opposite direction, but in that case the climb will be harder and more technical and the descent will be less fun!
