Itinerary description
This trail broke me. Horse trail in many sections, breaks any rythm; makes it even more technical and there are crazy long ramps. The climb at around point-22kms is just an absolute killer. Good luck to those testing themselves on it for real. I walked it all as I did many other bits an pieces. Crams came to visit at 23kms... the 23 to 29km portion became an odyssey.
The place is natural, more "wild woods" than anything else at that 1 hour from ATL downtown and the place is somewhat "creepy". When driving there the GPS took me up to a dead point with a road just blocked by suspicious car.. I didn't ask much... turned around and found another way but it was all bit surreal. Maybe the whole "nuclear"thing is at the back of your mind... even if that was like in the 1950s and probably with no issue/impact at all...
Not a 1st choice MTB place having other trails around with more MTB features to offer. At the same time, great trail to test strength and resilience. 32kms in those woods , not exactly a joke.
It is a black in the sense of effort and resilience. Not really black in terms of technicalities. Trail was all 100% doable without problem other than the ramps and rythm-breakers in Horse battered terrain or fallen trees.
