Itinerary description
This 17.3 km stretch is for the most part flat, wide, and bordered by low vegetation. After Bento Rodrigues it narrows and becomes more hilly.
Between Santa Rita Durão and Camargos, the traveler passes through the village of Bento Rodrigues. The Igreja do Rosário contains an imposing carved, wooden altar.
This leg of the journey ends in the little town of Camargos, founded in 1711, in the era of gold exploration. In spite of its lack of a tourist infrastructure, the village’s Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição with its beautiful stairway is worth a visit. The view from the hilltop where it sits brings tears to the eyes.
