Itinerary description
Long, steep inclines alternating with a few descents and not much shade mark this stretch of the Estrada Real, especially between kms 12 and 32.
For the first few km the road hugs the banks of the Rio do Peixe in a beautiful setting. The black waters of the river catch the traveler’s attention. The Travessão, at km 25, forms an important natural boundary between the basins of the São Francisco e Doce rivers, located in the Serra do Cipó. A little farther ahead is a beautiful stretch known as Duas Pedras.
Upon arriving in Itambé do Mato Dentro, a city founded in the 18th century, the landscape is punctuated by beautiful mountains and the Vitória waterfalls, at km 33. Itambé has an infrastructure to accommodate tourists.

As subidas são desafiadoras. Estradas de terra e areia, com bastantes costelas. Vale a pena a vista das pedras perto da estátua, no fim da penúltima subida.
