Itinerary description
The dirt road here is in good condition, flat, and with only a few minor hills and slopes. The Serra do Caraça comes into view surrounded by low vegetation. At km 5, one can see the colonial period Fazenda Cabo de Agosto, mentioned in the writings of the 19th century French botanist and naturalist Saint-Hilaire.
This 13 km leg of the journey ends in the city of Bom Jesus do Amparo. Here in the Mother Church, built in the colonial style, the only statue of Jesus Christ as a child in Brazil is found.
