Eberswalde - Zühlsdorf durch die Schorfheide (Werbellinsee)

Vom Streckenprofil her gesehen, müsste der Start eher in Zühlsdorf liegen, weil es von Zühlsdorf in Richtung Eberswalde unterm Strich gesehen eher bergrunter als bergauf geht!
Für Freizeitradfahrer oder im Gelände ungeübte Radfahrer ist die Strecke in vielen Abschnitten sehr schwer zu bewältigen. Für Mountainbiker ist die Strecke keine Herausforderung aber abwechslungsreich und spannend. Wer von der Fitness zwischendrin sich sieht sollte aufgrund der Länge eher mit E-Bike unterwegs sein.

STRECKENBERICHT

Wenige Meter vom Bahnhof entfernt, alsbald die Brücke, die über die Gleisanlage führt hinter sich lassend, biegt man rechts ab. Nach dem überqueren der kleinen Schleuse fährt man ein Stück am alten Finowkanal entlang. Der Uferweg kreuzt sodann die Bultstraße, wo ich dann nach Norden abgebogen bin. Die Alternative, weiter entlang des alten Finowkanals zu fahren, würde sich anbieten. Über kurz oder lang treffen sich eh dann beide Routen wieder.

Als erste größere Rastmöglichkeit bietet sich Altenhof am Werbellinsee an. Altenhof ist die größte Siedlung am See, mit einer großzügigen Strand- und Uferpromenade, sowie einem großen Seegelbot- und Yachthafen.

Bis Ruhlsdorf, also bis ungefähr zweidrittel des Weges, besteht die Route fast nur aus Wald- und Feldwegen. Ab Ruhlsdorf ging es dann über Landstraßen, die aber sehr wenig befahren waren.
Um die Landstraße zu vermeiden bietet sich ab Ruhlsdorf eine Alternative an und zwar über Klosterfelde und Stolzenhagen, um nach Zühlsdorf zu gelangen

Bei Wandlitz, wo sich die Waldsiedlung befindet, bin ich einen ziemlichen Irrweg gefahren, da müsste leicht eine Abkürzung zu finden sein.

Die Waldsiedlung

Die Waldsiedlung wurde als geschlossene Siedlung für die Mitglieder des Politbüros des ZK der SED konzipiert. Die Anlage entstand 1958 und das bewachte Gelände wurde nach der Wende für die Öffentlichkeit geöffnet. Im Juni 2017 hat die brandenburgische Landesregierung die historische Bebauung der Siedlung unter Denkmalschutz gestellt. Die Siedlung war auf keiner Landkarte verzeichnet. Den Wohnsitz in die Waldsiedlung zu verlegen, war mit der Berufung in das Politbüro für in Berlin tätige Mitglieder obligatorisch.

For recreational cyclists or inexperienced cyclists in the area the track is very difficult to handle in many sections. For mountain bikers the route is not challenging but varied and exciting. Anyone who sees the fitness in between should rather be on the e-bike because of its length.

COURSE REPORT

From the point of view of the track profile, the start should be in Zühlsdorf, because from Zühlsdorf towards Eberswalde the bottom line is rather uphill than downhill!
For recreational cyclists or those untrained in the terrain, the route is very difficult to master in many sections. For mountain bikers the route is not a challenge but varied and exciting. Who sees himself from the fitness in between should be due to the length rather with E-Bike on the way.

ROUTE REPORT

A few metres from the railway station, turn right as soon as you leave the bridge over the railway tracks behind you. After crossing the small ship sluice drive along the old Finow Canal. The path along the bank then crosses the Bultstraße, where I turned north. The alternative would be to continue along the old Finow Canal. Sooner or later both routes meet again.

Altenhof at the Werbellinsee is the first bigger resting place. Altenhof is the largest settlement on the lake, with a generous beach and shore promenade, as well as a large sailboat and marina.

To Ruhlsdorf, i.e. to about two thirds of the way, the route consists almost exclusively of forest and field paths. From Ruhlsdorf it went over country roads, which were however very little used.
To avoid the country road there is an alternative from Ruhlsdorf via Klosterfelde and Stolzenhagen to get to Zühlsdorf.

At Wandlitz, where the forest settlement is located, I took quite a wrong turn, there should be an easy shortcut to find.

The Waldsiedlung was conceived as a closed settlement for the members of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the SED. The complex was built in 1958 and the guarded area was opened to the public after the reunification. In June 2017, the Brandenburg state government placed the historical buildings of the settlement under a preservation order. The settlement was not on any map. Moving the residence to the Waldsiedlung was obligatory for members working in Berlin when they were appointed to the Politburo.

The riverside path then crosses the Bultstraße, where I am then turned to the north. The alternative, to continue along the old Finow Canal, would offer. Sooner or later, both routes meet again.
