Itinerary description
We took a water taxi from Port Chalmers to Portobello and began our ride towards Dunedin (forgot to turn on tracking for the first 5km) on the gorgeous trail. The entire trail is paved, separated from the road and well marked. There is only one section in downtown Dunedin across the docks and industrial zone that was a little hard to follow but we just kept to the water and the trail became obvious once again. Port Chalmers is worth a visit. Fantastic shops, cafe and pubs in a working Port. Fantastic loop. A must do.
