Waypoints
One can find caves on the surface
Your eyes are not deceiving you. In the karst, this is also possible. At this very moment you are standing in one such cave. We call them roofless caves. Originally, they were formed deep underground but then, in the course of several million years, rainwater entirely melted the cave’s roof and transported it through fissures deeper underground. What was left on the surface was the cave floor with river sediments. Because of the flat solution of limestone (from 20 to 50 metres in a million years) the cave seemingly moves upward, until it opens on the surface.
Risnik shaft
The Risnik shaft is a 239 m graduated abyss that merges in its lowest part with the horizontal channels of Kačna Cave on the groundwater level beneath the Karst. The shaft is also known as the Shaft of Three Generations and is registered in the Cave Registry of the Speleological Association of Slovenia under number 3389. The named was bestowed on the shaft by Divača-based speleologists who have been researching and measuring it since the early 20th century.
Lime at the church of St. Anthony of Great
A small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata L.) grows next to the Church of St. Anthony the Great in the center of old town Divača. The tree is in the courtyard of the church surrounded by a dry wall. The small-leaved lime is often mistaken for a linden tree, however they are quite different: the small-leaved lime’s leaves are bare and dark green on the top side, hairy on the bottom, and red-yellow in the corners.

Fountain in Gabrče
The round stone well is located in the central part of Gabrče beneath the Church of St. Anthony of Padua. The 19th century well is composed of two pieces and has been set on a stand and paved with stones. It used to collect water from the roofs of a number of neighboring houses and the church, but now gathers only the water from the church roof. It is covered with a forged protective net. A chain is looped around the spindle with two buckets attached, showing that the locals still use the well water for watering plants.
