Itinerary description
Cycling - Excellent weather prompted to repeat a loop done a few years ago, This way, the climb is entirely paved. Just above the Santuario di Valmala is the Cannons Route (Strada dei Cannoni) that runs on the ridge separating the Varaita and the Maira valleys. After Colle Ciabra the road is unpaved. Rough in various points, but in good general conditions. It connects Rossana with Colle della Bicocca. Built in 1744 by the Kingdom of Savoy (Sardinia) for military purposes, with further extension in 1893.
