Itinerary description

Cycling - Loop from Bussoleno to Rifugio Amprimo.
Cyclability of 90%.
Most of the climb is on paved road and shaded, which is much appreciated in warm days.
Great views on Rocciamelone and other peaks in the Susa Valley.
Rifugio Amprimo sits at Pian Cervetto in the Orsiera-Rocciavre' protected area. Food and accommodation, open on weekends from mid-March to mid-June (and fall season), every day in summer.
It's one stop along the Sentiero dei Franchi (Francs' Trail) , the route that Charlemagne took with his army in AD 773.

Brief stop at Castello Borello, dating back to the 12th century. Closed to visits, but worth a look as it's in decent state of conservation. Excellent position and bucolic environment.

UP: The climb requires some 15 minutes of portage up a stone-block laden stretch of road, wide but having a grade of 50%. After this, the rifugio is then reached in about 10-15 minutes.

DOWN: The typical access route to the rifugio was chosen for the descent. First 10 minutes require pushing to overcome large rocks on the trail.
