Itinerary description
Cycling - Ride in the Parco dell'Orsiera-Rocciavre'.
Total elevation gain 970 m (3,180 ft)
Cyclability up: 85%. All on decently paved road except the last 2 Km or so that requires portage for it's a hiking trail. Shade 70%.
Cyclability down: 95%. Safe to dismount in very short sections due to steep grade and rough terrain. Shade about 70% as well.
The nice ride was enhanced by an unexpected occurrence. While descending on a straight section on asphalt at about 35-40 Km/h (22-25 mph), a hawk suddenly appeared to the side of my head and flew there for some 4-5 seconds before speeding up to rest on a tree. Very close, I could have touched the tip of his wing. Amazing!
