Itinerary description
Cycling - Monte Cuneo overlooks the Avigliana Lakes and can be reached from Rivoli which lies at the foot of a moraine hill where quiet woods provide pleasant shade. A couple of log tables next to the summit are perfectly located to enjoy a snack or packed meal. If taken from the Rivoli Castle and back to it, total positive climb is a little over 600 m (2,000 ft).
A curious set of signs - obviously a joke - next to a simple piece of rope, written in local Piedmontese language, translates as follows:
Rope can't be seen - Reason: fog or too much booze
Rope moves - Wind
Rope is wet - It rains
Rope is dry - Good weather
Rope is hard - Cold
Rope is missing - Somebody took it!
This ride doesn't require particular skills. Just pay attention to gravel and some loose rocks or degraded surface (removing sunglasses while downhill in the shaded section will help).
