Itinerary description
Cycling - Mount Bracco or Mombracco, dubbed "Leonardo Da Vinci's Mountain" as he praised in a manuscript the quality of quartzite rock - still quarried today, is an interesting relief as it stands on the orographic left side of the Po Valley.
La Trappa is a former monastery dating back to AD 1248. After its closure, the complex was converted into private housing. As of today, only St. Mary's church is left as a public building.
NOTE: the last part to reach the pic-nic spot (see waypoint), and the descent to Rocchetta, are on a road used by quarry trucks and is completely laden with loose chunks of sharp rocks. Demanding section requiring decent riding skills.
