Itinerary description
Cycling - From an E-MTB rental location near Moncalvo, where a friend rented one for a test, we took a clockwise loop touching several perched villages in the Monferrato area.
Monferrato is, like the more notorious Langhe, characterized by hills cultivated with extensive vineyards. This ride is all ups-and-downs as it took place mostly on unpaved roads, rough at times and with short but very steep sections, running through vineyards and fields.
Spectacular views over the Alps range on this fine and warm day.
An oddity is the Bi-Albero (double tree). It's a cherry tree which grew naturally on top of a mulberry. A bit too early to see the blossoms but still an interesting feature.
Note 1: most would find it too hot in summer months
Note 2: terrain gets quite difficult after rainy days
Note 3: grape harvesting occurs around September. As nice and joyful the occasion can be, tractors traffic might reduce the fun
