Itinerary description
Cycling - Alpe di Siusi (Seiseralm) is said to be the largest mountain plateau in Europe. Or, maybe it refers to the Alps area.
Meadows and pastureland with typical old houses and magnificent - better say mesmerizing - views over the Odle (Geisler), a portion of the Sella group, Sassolungo and Sassopiatto (Langkofel and Plattkofel), Catinaccio (Rosengarten), and the Sciliar peaks in the distance.
This track starts from Selva di Val Gardena, then up on a section that doesn't provide traction due to loose rocks. This is the only pushing section for about 10 minutes.
Another thing to consider is that one section of this recorded track coincides with official tour No. 6 (Tour of the Siusi "Almen") which has been removed by the Tourism Board from the list of feasible tours. I suspect that this is due to a short (10 minutes walk) passage through private ground where a posted sign clearly indicates a ban to bicycles. See waypoints. We duly walked our bikes and had no issues.
NOTE: almost all bikes we encountered were electric-assisted. I've counted less than ten human-powered bikes like ours. Easier life, but certainly a good option to put untrained people on a saddle. Plenty of rental locations in Selva, S. Cristina and Ortisei.

Great view. Some steep climbs, but nothing you can't go off the biles and climb. Very good as a first-day trail to be familiar with this magnificent region.
Good! Thank you for your review.
